Sad and Happy in the same week

ok so to start some sad news, on Thursday after Ahidys baptismal interview (which she passed, woot) she was taken into a cps(child protective sevices) group home due to her sister being no longer able to care for her. she is not allowed to be a parrt of any new religion or organization that is not a part of cps stuff untill she turns 18 which is in like july or so but still its super sad!

shehad time to go to young womans on thursday night and she and all the girls were crying and it was super sad she kept saying that this is the first time in her life that she has ever felt loved and accepted by anyone and now she has to leave which is so super sad! so all the young men and young woman got together and made her a bunch of posters and notes with their testimonys and uplifting messages to be honest it was like it was out of a movie how it was everyone tagged together to help out one person and just make her feel loved and welcome. So that was sad.

devan was able to go on the scouts campout which is funny because it was for the decons but he still loved it and they all loved him haha i have to laugh because they got rained out and were wet the entire time heehee so saturday was a fun day for us, it was pouring down rain all day and we were tracting a lot which i kinda like tracting in the rain butin any case we were wet and cold all day.

Elder Jackson and i are doing weel even through these hard times with our investigaters, there is such a power that comes from an obediant companionship that the spirit of contention is no were to bee seen even when we go down an entire street and have door after door slammed in our faces and rude people yelling at us one of us can say something and we can both laugh and have hope that the next house will accept the spirit into their homes, i Love Elder Jackson he is such an amazing missionary.

So we met this guy who by his words is somwhere between a saint and a prophet and he is beyond religion and is ready for whats next like walking on water, and the reason that he is at this point is that he has descovered that crystals and gems are gifts from God not as jewlery but as tools, becasue we all vibrate to eachother mentaly and physicaly but crystals andd gems vibrate at the spiritual level and thats where he is at metaphysicaly he the next thing he is working on is to "bond" with an angel and chant the words of heaven so that he can figure out how to make his spirit lighter then water... i think at this point we just walkd away because he wanted us to come in and help him... oh the people you meet on the good ole mission haha. so all in all this week has had its ups and its downs buts at any point we hae enjoyed ourselfs and we're happy
I love you guys so much!

Surprise!

well hello everyone! ok i did not get transfered! woot! so things are well here in Surprise!

so our baptism date for Ahide (said hy-dee) is still on but in deven's interview we found out that he is on probation! OH NO! and we don't know how long we will be on it so thats kinda sad but he still want to learn and work towards baptism just as soon as he works out court stuff so that'll be good.

so this week has been super fun we got tons of stuff done and we've been busy busy busy. fun story! so i was riding behind Elder Jackson and for some reason he pulled his brakes and in the process of dodging him i yet again fell off my bike haha i'm perfectly fine surprisingly but it was kinda funny how my bike kinda just kept going and tumbling down the road a bit even after i came to a stop but all is well.

so i don't really know what to write haha this week has kinda been a regular one but with transfers and all but i'm super happy i didn't get transferred  i enjoyed those picture of socks thats kinda what happens when you work in them all day everyday.

so we helped a sister in the ward pick and trim her lemon tree and i had no idea what it would be like! the smell of these huge perfectly ripe lemons was one of the best smells my nose has ever been graced with and then she made us tons of lemonade from fresh lemons and it was the best i've ever had i can't tell you how amazing it was! i honestly don't think i can ever eat a lemon from the store again because these were amazing! but i did find out that lemon trees are covered in nasty thorns that make it super hard to get to the lemons and they leave long deep scrapes all over your arms BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!

so at church we had a new investigator there his name is jared he has 1 and a half kids his sons name is jacob and he is 5, his wife would have come but she was super sick. this family is amazing they are so prepared you have no idea, and all they want is to find out what Gods wants of them and where he wants them to be they are fantastic and are so thirsty for the gospel!

speaking of sick, there is a huge flu/cold/broccidis/brick-to-the-head sicknesses going arround here and hopefully i'll be passed by but its hit both the zoneleaders and Elder Jackson is starting to show signs bleh but i will keep doing all i can. so i wish i could send picture but i don't have anyway of putting them onto the computer and i'm so sad! but thats ok i'll figure something out. any whom i love you all so so so so so much keep up the good work and be missionaries!

What the Roo has been up to

Note from Z: Sorry! I've been terrible at posting Andrew's  Elder Pehrson's emails. I'll try to do better. Here are a few from the last little while:

December 24, 2012:

HELLO! IT IS I, ELDER PEHRSON AND I AM WISHING YOU A HAPPY JOLLY CHRISTMAS!
i do so wish that i could write to you an epistle of all the amazing things that are on my mind but alas time is agenst us as it always has been even from the time that God said "So let there be light" heh. oh my goodnes ok so i'll be calling at around... NOON! high noon to be vague, hmmm. but i'll call you and i think i'll do it on the home phone so BE PREPARED! :) so i super hope you got the box i sent and if yoyu haven't i'll be very sad and i might even cry a little. Oh so this week on a bike has been fun i'm so super glad that this time around i don't have to build the muscle of riding a bike every day like last time haha that wasn't fun, this time i just have to work on endurance and such so thats good, the teaching pool here is... small... and by small i mean tiny and by tine i mean well we aren't actualy teaching anyone... we had a whole week with our total numbers was zero BUT thats ok ecause we're obediant and working hard and besides we got to share tons of amazing christmas messages with members in our ward s so i'm super happy about that, so i feel weird telling you about all this considering i'm calling you tomorrrow heh that'll be fun. so Elder Jackson is the most amazing person in the world i love him to death, but he has a problem with stressing out and getting depressed which is sad because he doesn't need too, so i'm doing my best to help him relax and be obediant without worrying about stuff he can't control and also to have a positive attitude about life the universe and everything in between oh and did i mention to you that he is a ninja? like i mean it! my compnion is a ninja straight up 100% ninja he is an amazing parkour guru so he can climb super tall walls and then dive off them and then roll out of it like we would when playing zelda and i totally am telling truth here, he is ninja, we often times chase him arround our house trying to tickle him( he is deathly tickleish) and we can never catch him with out some random feat of luck because he can always climb up soething or dive through our grasp and then roll under a bed and then apear on top of the bed behind us... oh man i feel like the mediocre side kick to to batman or james bond but at the same time whenever he does something amazing i just get glazed eyes as i picture us in anime form and we are battteling the evil forces of evildom and then someone will almost without fail shoot me with a nerf gun and bring me out of the depths of my elusions... so yeah thas my super duper compenero who is a ninja, waddup! oh and another note of jovial news i am now on the smallest hole of my belt, oh yeah i'm loosing weight and i'm super happy about that! oh hey i was also wondering if by chance i could have some money on my card so i get get some new shoes the ones i have are on their death bed but if not thats fine they'll live untill febuary :) so any whom I love you all so much and i'll talk to you tomorrow, waddup! and merry CHRISTMAS I LOVE YOU ALL! :D

Note from Z: A little explanation required. When I put Roo's emails on the blog, I edit them. Sometimes my edits reduce the email to a single coherent sentence which I decide not to post. Sometimes I just roll my eyes and decide he can decipher that particular email and stick it on the blog when he comes home. Above, I posted an unedited email. You're welcome.

On Christmas Day, whilst on the phone with my darling brother, I lectured him on the merits of paragraphs. Here is what followed (unedited):

December 31, 2012

oh man you would be proud of me i used paragraphs AND i pput a story into my email! oh man this is great!

well for some reason i sent that without saying all that i had to say haha! oh my goodness i loved the pictures so much! and happy birthday nathan! it sure looks like you had a super fun Christmas and GUESS WHAT! i have a story for you guys so... Elder Jackson and i went over to our Elders Qorum presidants house and he was all yeah i'm from utah and i'm all no way me too and he's all yeah but i'm from sandy and i'm all yeah so am i and he's all yeah but i lived right above alta view hospital and i said no way me too and he said yeah but my dad is brother Christianson and i said wow mine isn't but he was my home teaching companion and he was like my brother is jaff christiansen and i said mine isn't but he was my sunday school teacher! so long story short brother christiansons son is in my ward and he grew up in my ward! so thats my amazing cool story that i though was super amazing! you'll have to talk to him about that! oh yeah also i was looking through our ward list and there was a family that lived on alexandria lane and they were thta watts family! i thought thta was funny too perhaps there was a relation, oh so good news! we didn't have a week of all zeros to report! woot! that was really nice, we're doing a ton of finding with tracting and member contacting but we're not actually finding anyone but thats ok we're obediant and working hard so we have no reason to think that this isn't Gods plan. So we went oh wait...
(paragraph)so we went on exchanges this week and i was in our area and i was able to find everything just fine woot that made me happy the grid system here is kinda wacked out but thats ok. so i just wanted to... dang
(another paragraph) i wanted to let you all know that i love you tons and tons and keep the pictures coming they are my favorite! it amazing to see you all happy and growing! so its weird to think we're about to go into a year in which the entire time i will be on a mission! all of 2013 i will be an undershepperd of Christ! how cool is that! one full year dedicated to serving God! oh man i'm so excited for what its going to be like ! well i have to...
(yet another) I have to go now but i love you all keep up the good work! keep me posted and please please please keep sending me emails and pictures i love hearing/seeing you gys! i love you!

Note from Z: I give up. So here are a couple more emails from Roo. Edited.

January 7, 2013:

Andrew: Family!

Ten minutes later...

Dad: Do you have anything to say other than just "family"?

Apparently not.

January 14, 2013:

Family!

so i had some people tell me that you got hit by a big snow storm?! thats cool i've been in short sleeve shirts... hmmm ok i have to say this, the weather here is amazing and so nice i love it! BUT its january... and its not supposed to be like this and so for that reason i'd much rather have had  the snow storm haha.

oh and yes i did get the package THANK YOU SO MUCH and i didn't find the 40 dollars until this morning haha i went to put a pair on and that fell out it was like christmas so thank you! that will go to a new pair of shoes for elder pehrson! woot!

so this week has gone tons better then weeks passed we have two dates set for the 26th and we had a ton of lessons and most of the people we're teaching came to church so that was amazing!

so today has in my opinion been one of the best pdays ever in the history of life the universe and everything in between. we started by going to the white tank mountains and we did this super fun hike and then after that we went bowling and then we played lazer tag in a super cool place and it has been so much fun!

the Buells in the zls ward took us because it was Elder Jones last p-day ever until he goes to the land of eternal p-days AHHHH! so we've had tons of fun!

so in my bike crash my seat on my bike broke but not all the way but then the other day it fell off! so i got a new one and let me tell you all this experience is going down in history it was like soft billowy clouds of puffy softness were holding my butt in the most delicate of holds! it was amazing! i don't know why i didn't get a new seat sooner i came to realize that my old one was simply slaying my butt all day long!

so transfers are next week, we have no idea what going to happen so hold your breath but then next transfer is only going to be five weeks long so surprise everyone i'm coming home a week sooner! weird. any whom i love you all and i really liked the pictures of the cello building that was so super cool! so sister Taylor texted me the other day saying that my uncle from right outside the mission called her and talked with her and that he says hi so wow cool stuff!

i love you all thank you for all you do it means so much to me! I Love YOU!

Love, the Ward Mission Leader

Here's a lovely email and photo sent to us by Andrew's current ward mission leader:

Hello Family Jackson and Pehrson

Your boys are doing great! We had them over for Sunday pot roast and brownies. They had a great investigator (Devin) attend church today and he even bore his testimony during fast and testimony meeting!

They are doing wonderful things.

love,
The Adrienne and Jared Wilson Family (ward mission leader Jared is in the picture)
